For the nongame related reasons: Neversoft has the audacity to claim Rock Band is a copy cat of THEIR game, when, in reality, HARMONIX made their game the success it was, they just took over and pretty much could've put out any game to enjoy the success they've had, because of what the prior games in the series were. They continue to claim they have had more purchased DLC than Rock Band, yet they include free downloads in their purchased stats.

THEN, they realize that Harmonix and Rock Band are kicking their asses, despite Rock Band being much more expensive, and completely pull a 180 and realize that they need drums and guitar too. If that weren't enough, they claim that Harmonix copied the idea of cymbal addons for Rock Band drums, yet Harmonix announced it almost a month before Red Octane and Neversoft did.

90 Day Guarantee? Harmonix had an RMA period of over a year, for an unlimited amount of equipment, and they are continuing that with Rock Band 2. While the guitar is not of the same quality as Red Octane products, they are improving and the drums have improved a shitload since Rock Band 1.

I'm not going to get the game for those reasons, let alone things I've already seen that I don't like on gameplay:


Music Studio is a bust, with a 3 minute limit on all songs, or 1200 notes, whichever comes first. The ability to only share 5 files is limiting, as is the fact that you cannot manually place Ho/Pos or Star Power.

The touch pad is kind of neat, but I wonder how effective it will be picking up notes over time. And the fact that they STILL haven't learned that detachable necks is a BAD THING makes me question if Red Octane listens to customers.


There's no need for Wireless drums. I wish Harmonix hadn't done it either. It sucks, and there's no need for it. The fact that the kick pedal can't clip on to the kit ala Rock Band has me worried, it'll be sliding everywhere. I'll believe Non-slip when I see it.

The 2 cymbals sounds nice, but with they way they are charting songs with heavy high hat, the high hat being to the right of the snare is incredibly awkward and unusual. Throw in the fact that you need to use both cymbals to activate Star Power, which is next to impossible to do without breaking combo (and who wants to activate Star Power in a slow section where there's not a lot of points), and it just screams not thought out.


No covers has the potential to be really limiting. I'd rather have a good cover of a great song than not have the great song at all.

The entire interface is cluttered, and Shared Star Power is unusual. Could go either way. Individual Rock Meters and a Band Rock Meter is odd, because unlike Rock Band, where if one person fails the whole band doesn't fail instantly and the Band meter slowly goes down. In GH:WT, however, there's really no need for a full band meter, as if one person fails, everyone does. It takes up space on the screen, serving no purpose.


IF the reviews are great by ScoreHeroians, I'll consider renting it, but as of now, I don't think it will be a good game, nor will I support Activision/Neversoft, as the way they've handled themselves is awful, in my opinion.
