I'll try and bring up the issue with my dad again. He pays a lot for his server, but he still has about 600 Gigs a month to spare. I'll check and see if he's sure he won't NEED the extra space, because you said QsK takes about 200 GBs a month right King?

I'm just kinda wary of bringing it up, he does use it for his business.

Our bandwidth has actually been pretty random since we re-upped the site.

December: 323 gigs
January: 445.08 Gig
February: 176.78 Gig
So far in march: 40.14 Gig

I really wish I knew more about this type of thing. I know we have actual servers just laying around the basement of my job that we do not use. But I honestly have not clue what would it take.

I know our network admin runs servers at his house for games like Counter Strike, WoW, and some other shooters.

Do you need to physically have the server? I can't imagine you would be allowed to just hook it up to a cable modem. I know I should really know more about this stuff, but this is really stuff I do not deal with on a daily basis.

Thanks for your very unintelligent, mathiasa-like response. I've stated many times running the server myself would be a huge problem as I am not educated enough in computers to do so. But I already have the hardware means to.

You can host it on your own if you want to. Id probably get a second box and go with Linux or WinXP will even work. 512Ram, 1Ghz will be plenty, less even maybe. Apache to run the server. Forward threw Port 80. Youll need a hostname for your comp and a static local IP which can both be setup pretty easy.

It will lag your connection to shit though but it wouldnt be that hard to setup

I would do what wes said, what's the specs on your brothers comp? Or get someone willing to do it and send them the comp....simple to set-up and keep running. like I said I have some hardware you could use and if needed could send you that comp but as of now it only has 256 mb RAM

Also, you may want to check out the type of service you get by your ISP. You could easily surpass a limit with your bandwidth with a hosted forum and videos, or use up alot and make your ISP unhappy. I'm pretty sure most ISPs offer a web hosting deal that you could look into so that your connection wouldn't suffer terribly from having the website hosted off of it. Other then that, it's just a matter of getting everything set up, keeping things secure, doing backups of the site, etc.

But I had a proxy running off of a computer at my house that I could access from my school; the Apache stuff is fairly easy to get set up and have running.
