Oh Fuck
Booking our hostels for Europe is such a bitch. For each hostel we have to find it's exact location in relevance to what we want to see, where we want to go, transporation, airports, train stations, would we walk, do we drive; take everything into consideration, including the price and finally book the damn thing. Well we have to do this for each night, 2 1/2 weeks and after hours of booking we're only up to the Paris segment in our trip, and we've decided that we already hate Paris, mostly because everything is named in a way that no human could ever possibly pronounce.
We've decided to go a bit on the adventurous side and book a few nights in "multi-dorm-like rooms" in which anywhere from 8 to 14 people sleep, interesting.
We've also left a few select nights open, aka un-booked. Taking the "we'll figure it out" approach which is always my favorite. We do plan on packing a fly and rope in the event that we have to sleep on some random farm in the abscence of affordable housing. If 45 days in the Canadian wilderness taught me anything, it's that standards are for pussys.
EDIT: I'm not quite sure where I was going with this. We're taking a fucking 14 and a half hour train ride from Paris to Rome. My plan is to get drunk, pass out, wake up, get drunk and still only be halfway there.

Not sure what you're talking about.
Hostels range in comfort, similar to hotels. For some nights we'll be in a room with just ourselves, others we'll be in a dorm style room with 10+ people.
