JPG, GIF, SWF, PNG. Which to use? - QsK Global

I have to write a short essay on the difference between the file formats JPG, GIF, SWF, and PNG. Then basically create a picture using one of those formats which best suits its purpose.

So how do you decide which format to use. Which is used for what?

PNG for still images, better quality. I had heard they were trying to make a format similar to PNG, but with animation. I believe it's called APNG. Ah, yep, looks like they went through with it(link). SWF is a flash file, so it would be good for an animation with sound. GIF would be a small animation, and if it were up to me, people would stop using JPEG all together.

so basically

png> jpg. same idea, just better.
gif vs png ... gif=animation png does not.
swf not related with the others. = flash.

Would anyone be able to make me a vector picture for the format SWF?

All the people who were able to Vector have left QsK lol (Drew,Blackout)
