Activision and Treyarch have announced that a multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: World at War will arrive in October for both the Xbox 360 and PC.

Players who want a first taste of the new Pacific theater on their Xbox 360 can register at the game's official website or pre-order the game at GameStop stores or through the retailer's website in North America. The PC beta will be a separate download.

The announcement doesn't include any mention of a PlayStation 3 beta, so for now it looks like 360 and PC owners will get first dibs.

The full retail version comes out November 11 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii, and Nintendo DS.
