Something to think about if your running wireless is that someone is using your internet over theirs or someone is picking it up and just utilizing some of (or most of) your bandwidth. This ends up being a serious issue because they can grab your identity as well as a number of other things if you have an open network.
If you do not have an open network, consider closing it .... fast.
If your network is already closed, then consider resetting the router, the keys, and the passwords.
Also, check the cache and cookies on your internet browser, this tends to bog down peoples speeds quite quickly after a long period of time.
Lastly, there may be some difficulties in your area in terms of actual connection and availability to the internet, and thus give it some time to clear up. And if the problem persists consider calling your provider and having them come out and look at your connection and hardware. (This is generically free if you do it the right way).
